Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring monthly charges of $9 USD. Cancel any time — no fees, no penalties. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; we do not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by applicable law.
Billing terms
Payment processor: All transactions are handled by Stripe, Inc. Mocha does not store your card details.
Renewal: Your Pro subscription renews automatically on the same day each month until you cancel.
Cancellation: Cancel any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
Refunds: We do not issue prorated refunds for partial months. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 14 days at help@usemocha.app and we will review promptly.
Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will retry up to three times before suspending Pro access. You will be notified by email at each stage.
Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice via email before any pricing changes take effect.
Free plan limits
The Free plan may include monthly session quotas, question limits, or feature restrictions. Current limits are shown in-app and may change as the product evolves. We will communicate meaningful changes via in-app notice.
Stripe & security
Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Your card number never touches Mocha's servers. You can view and update your billing information directly via the link in your account settings.

All feedback, scores, and suggested answer rewrites are generated by artificial intelligence. They are coaching guidance, not professional career advice, legal advice, or a guarantee of any outcome. AI can make mistakes — always apply your own judgment.
Mocha's feedback reflects publicly documented hiring frameworks. We make no claim that using Mocha will result in an interview, offer, or job.
Your Data
What we collect
We are transparent about every piece of data we collect and why.
Name & email address — required to create and identify your account. Used to send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts) and, if you opt in, product updates.
Interview answers — the text you submit in practice sessions is sent to our AI model to generate feedback. We retain this data to improve scoring accuracy and personalise your experience over time.
Session & performance history — your completed sessions, scores, and streaks are stored on our servers to power your progress dashboard and to improve the product.
Usage analytics — page views, feature interactions, and general usage patterns collected via Google Analytics. Analytics data is pseudonymised and does not include your name or email address directly.
Payment data — if you subscribe to Pro, Stripe collects your payment details. We receive and store only a tokenised reference, your subscription status, and billing history. We never see your full card number.
Device & browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location (country/region level) collected automatically when you use the platform. Used for security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics.
How we use your data
To provide the service — generating AI feedback, saving your history, processing payments, and sending transactional emails.
To improve Mocha — analysing usage patterns and reviewing anonymised interview responses to improve scoring quality. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent.
To keep you informed — product updates, new features, and beta announcements if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email we send.
For security & fraud prevention — detecting abuse, protecting accounts, and complying with legal obligations.
We never sell your data. We do not use your data for behavioural advertising or share it with advertisers. No exceptions.

Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records for tax compliance, typically 7 years).
Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing is primarily contract performance (to provide the service) and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics).
CCPA (California)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at help@usemocha.app.
Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Credentials are hashed server-side and never stored in plaintext. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never passes through Mocha's servers. We conduct security reviews as the product evolves and will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach, as required by applicable law.
Changes & Termination
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Mocha evolves. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable notice where possible. If we shut down Mocha, we will give at least 30 days' notice and ensure you can export your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New York County. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
